Why O why did I read Linda Goodman when I was a teenager? I was born on Mar 21, which makes me a Pisces/Aries Cusp or "Parisces" (Wanna check if you were born on the Cusp_Signs). I could have turned out to be a normal Piscean (normal as compared to Aries). But no, I had to go and read Linda Goodman and was horrified to find out that I was doomed to be irritable, quick tempered, restless, sometimes intolerant and contentious. I am going to stop adding more to this list; I am pretty sure if you have ever dealt with an Arian, you will have lots and lots and lots of not-so-flattering adjectives to add :-).
Jokes apart, I don't really bother with horoscope/star signs everyday, nor do I walk around with umpteen gemstone rings and lockets; hoping that it will change me for the better. But I have observed many a times, that even though I don't really believe in astrology, I tend to read my horoscope more carefully when I am facing rough times. Sometimes, I even go and read horoscope of other star signs to try and find out if they might be in a better mood today or if it's a good time to resolve issues. I know it's idiotic, but I don't generally go to others with my problems. So, I have to resort to means, however illogical, to calm myself down. As long as I am not taking the extreme route and resorting to sacrifices and other mumbo-jumbo, I think I am OK. A leetle bit of cuckooness never hurt anyone!
All said and done, if I believe that all the negative traits of my star sign are true, then hope is not lost coz there are some positive traits in there too. In the past, I have got away by saying "That's the way I am, I can't help it!". Now I know, there is nothing that cannot be changed about oneself, all you need is the realization that there is something that needs mending plus the will to mend things. Uff, so now, I have 26 years of damage to repair.
P.S. I really shouldn't blame reading Linda Goodman early on for the way I am now. Guess you can't escape what the stars foretell. How else can you explain my Sr. Kg. teacher's comments on my report card stating "She should not bully others"? I am pretty sure that I had no idea about star signs at that age, so I couldn't have faked Arian characteristics :-).

astrology is just entertainment
"About astrology and palmistry: they are good because they make people vivid and full of possibilities.Everybody has a birthday, a horoscope and almost everybody has a palm." Enjoy knowing about your future but do not set much store by it.
Hey Rambler... You are a star... star don't needs signs... :-)
Two of my closest friends are Ariens... and the best part about both is that they are independent thinkers...
Also... I sometimes wonder how much astrology predicts and how much it influences... I mean... do we act based on what we read... and then believe that what we read is true... because it predicted how we acted...
@sm
I wouldn't say that astrology is just entertainment.It's a science, people have studied it for ages, so it can't be all bullshit.
@KParthasarathi
Ya, I agree with u. Astrology/palmistry is fine as long as you don't overdo it.
@As the Mind Meanders
Ha ha, you are being too nice :-).
Good luck to you, since you have two Arians as your best friends.
I have wondered many a times, how much we act based on what we read. That what made write this post.
well i had to dig up all abt linda goodman first, then i read what she had thought of virgo males. well i can tell you one thing she made me feel like a control freak. Sometimes predictions go either way, but we should not forget one thing everybody has one or more true good qualities and that is what we should cherish!!!! and maybe try to keep a check on our shortcomings......
@Anonymous
Thank god for google eh :-). I know, predictions can go either way, depends on whether you believe the good ones and forge ahead in spite of the bad ones.
ha ha. this is a fellow arien. and ya, not just linda goodman, but a lot of other star sign gurus make me feel like i must be a cross between hitler and a pit bull. well, yeah...i'm impulsive, impatient...but aggressive...heck no...bloody hell no...who called me that...come on out...show your self... come on...come on...
enjoyed ur blog : )
@agent green glass
Hey, welcome to my blog..
Oh, I know how you feel, I don't know how people can say such nasty things about us Arians.We are such nice people :-)
ya rite...
its always nice to see a showoff aries kid..i remember this pic of an arian i know so well.. clinging like a monkey to the back of the sofa showing off her newly acquired bangles...this is imprinted in my mind...
wish i cud do a thing or two abt arians... the only ppl whom i have known to be great are VIRGO FEMALES...
well I am an Arian myself born on 22nd of March! I really dont think that being a cusp does any difference to a charteristic. You are either / or. I do feel that I have certain arian characteristics and have tried to tame them to an extent so that i dont flung my chances :P
Btw, are you a Mallu?
OMG! This is a conspiracy! Aries & Virgo... together! In the comments of one post! This HAS to be a conspiracy!
My Dad is an Arian (22nd March) & no matter what I do, I can never seem to please him! "irritable, quick tempered, restless, sometimes intolerant and contentious"... you said it all!
And my sister's sign is Virgo! And most of female friends in school were all Virgos! An aunt here is Virgo! And yes, they DO have a tendency to boss you around. I sometimes feel my younger sister is actually my elder brother... the ay she always likes to have things her way!
Phewwwwwww! It's tough living with the both of them! Aries can be very spontaneous & Virgo make the best nurses in the whole world. I doubt any other sign can fuss over you like that when you fall sick!
Hi,
Kind of stumbled upon your blog. Liked it very much..simple and neat..
Btw...I totally agree with you that if you have will, there is nothing that you cannot change. That attitude my friend is very important to beat the stars....
@Anonymous
Arians are so misunderstood..That was a pic of an arian trying to teach a leo how to climb trees..since a tree was missing from the scene, I was climbing the sofa...And one more thing, arians are quite modest, they will not show off like this particular virgo female always does :-p
@Hemal
Welcome to my blog..Oh you took this post seriously.I am absolutely fine with the way I am :-).Yes, I am a mallu..How in the world did you deduce that?
@Kaddu
Welcome to my blog..And chill,there is no conspiracy going on :-). It's just two friends pulling each other's leg..
Oh your dad's an arian, that's a tough cookie to handle :-).
Come to think of it, I agree, Virgos do tend you boss around..Ms. VIRGO FEMALE please note :-).
@Amol Naik
Welcome to my blog. And thanks for your nice comments.Hope to see you around.
Yea, for years, I said that I am not gonna change, that's the way I am.Now, I think change is not bad, if you are changing for the better.
lol.....this is the most discussed post of yours i have seen in a while, in between i do agree with anonymous virgo female.....we virgos are good people, we may be little bossy but we are real good at heart!!!!!!!
giving a reference of KG report was really funny coincidence. I like the way you presented.
i always wonder, if these horoscopes are not true, how come these coincidence happen?, if palmistry is not true, how come everybody has unique patterns?
well what I feel is that u should not be bothered by "how u are percieved by others"...because its their own perception & you cannot change the way others percieve you...be urself and follow your instincts. God has given something special to everybody. Astrology and all take them as hummor..[:D].And ur true friends will never complain abt you...this is what i follow.
@Anonymous
U r right, lot of comments in a post after a long time :-)
@income.portfolio
Hey thanx :-). Even I have been curious as to how true horoscope/palmistry is, but don't really think too much about it.
@Gautam
Does it look like I am bothered about how I am perceived?:-)I have always tried to do what I want..If I think I am wrong, I will change;but it definitely won't be because someone else doesn't like the way I am.
I was doomed to be irritable, quick tempered, restless, sometimes intolerant and contentious. I am going to stop adding more to this list....these lines made me think so...neways carry on..
Naa, that's not me being afraid of people's perception..I know for sure that I have been guilty of being each and every one of those adjectives at some time or the other.. :-)
Well, your surname did the trick!!!
Since I was brought up in Kerela, all i wanted to hear was that yes from you!
I am more of a Mallu than a Gujju... :)
I'm a Cancimini (Gemini-Cancer cusp). For the longest time I thought I was just a Gemini but some things didn't fit. I do have a lot of Cancerian traits as well, which has resolved the mystery..
And lets just say that I don't have fond memories of an Arian.. :|
And lol@report card! Did you take your teacher's advice? :P
Most people who have read Linda Goodman have benefited from her words. I believe you are an Arien. I mean cusps are just because it is not certain to us whether you are into one house or the other..
As for me, I have read all the four books by Linda and have used it at every step since then to understand and adjust with people. It sure helps in maintaining relationships.. :)
Just a bit of wayward advice!
Happy blogging!
@Hemal
How weird is this..You are a gujju brought up in kerala, I am a mallu brought up in gujarat :-).
@Arslan
Ya exactly, a lot of times even I felt confused.
That report card was from Sr. Kg.By the time I read it, I was through with my teens and had bullied few kids in school,all the kids in my society..so it was too late :-)
@195 Degrees
Oh I am not attacking Linda Goodman. This is just a light-hearted post, not to be taken seriously :-)
hehe... sorry for late revert was out in Ahmedabad for somework...
now this is what I call balancing act :P
after knowing that you are a mallu, wanted to ask you whether you know malayalam? coz i have seen so many mallus here in mumbai who do not know even to speak!
that is surprising...but a fact none the less... i can speak gujju and mallu fluently so they too are surpised all the while.
@hemal
yup, i can speak malayalam..though not quite so well.. my gujju and mallu are all the same, broken with bits of hindi and english thrown in :-)... I cannot even imagine a gujju like you talking in mallu :-)
